Nevada Mountains

This is a new media for me...encaustic. The painting is created with melted wax. The wax is heated on a hotplate and pigments are added. The wax is applied to an encaustic board and remelted using a hot gun. The pigmented wax can then be manipulated with the gun to create an image. I completed three of these a few months ago and two will be shown at The Artist's Co-op next month. This one is 5x7 and sells for $110. Come by the Co-op and see this one and another.
