Soleil

This was an experimental piece done with foil. Yes, the foil that you use in the kitchen. I incised it with an orange stick. The kind you find in the cosmetics department. After carving symbols and shapes on the foil and gluing it to the board, I applied acrylic paint to the surface and let it dry. I then wiped alcohol over the paint to bring the shine of the foil through the paint. The last step was to paint around the foil with black gesso. This was a fun project! It will be at Artist's Co-0p of Reno in June. It is for sale at $500.
