Trees on the Street

This is one of my watercolor batiks. It is 12x17 painted on rice paper attached to 140 lb watercolor paper. The rice paper is very delicate and tears if not attached to a more substantial paper. I work on the rice paper with wax and then remove the wax to expose the paint with an iron and newspaper. It is a surprise to see the finished piece after the wax is ironed off. This painting is framed and sells for $250.
